Tom Hanks Surprises A Bullied Australian Fan Named Corona; Actor’s Gesture For Him Will Warm The Cockles Of Your Heart
AWW! Tom Hanks’ response to a bullied boy named Corona’s letter will bring a smile on your face, not to miss the gift that the actor sent to him
Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were among the first celebrities to catch the deadly Coronavirus. Well, it has been a month since then and the couple, who was self-quarantining in the Queensland hospital, has now returned to the USA. The couple is doing fine now. Recently, Tom Hanks came across a letter from an Australian boy, who is being severely bullied because of his name Corona. In response, not only the Forrest Gump actor comforted the young man but also sent him a gift to be cherished forever.
The eight years old boy, who goes by the name of Corona De Vries, wrote a letter to the actor asking his well-being. As per 7 News, his letter read, “I heard on the news you and your wife had caught the coronavirus,” he added, “Are you ok? I love my name but at school, people call me the coronavirus.” Further, he expressed his disappointment, “I get very sad and angry when people call me this.” To which, Hanks tried to lift his spirit by responding though one of the typewriters he always carries with him.
He wrote, “Your letter made my wife and I feel so wonderful! You’ve got a friend in me!” Hanks also gifted the lad a Corona-branded typewriter that he had brought to Australia. He added, “I thought this typewriter would suit you. Ask a grown-up how it works. And use it to write me back.” Such a sweet gesture!
Some time ago, Tom hosted the Saturday Night Live show, wherein his wife Rita opened up on the ‘extreme side effects’ she faced after consuming chloroquine. “I think people have to be very considerate about that drug. We don't really know if it's helpful in this case," said Rita.
